Capturing Love from New Heights: Elopement Videography in North Douglas
In today's fast-paced world, love stories are often best told in the embrace of nature—away from the hustle and bustle of traditional wedding venues. Elopements have become a popular choice for couples seeking intimacy and adventure, and as a professional photographer, videographer and commercial drone pilot, I had the privilege of documenting one such breathtaking celebration in North Douglas, Alaska - just across the bridge from the Alaska State Capital of Juneau, Alaska.

The Magic of North Douglas
Nestled between the stunning Pacific Ocean and the majestic Mendenhall Glacier, North Douglas is a secret gem that offers diverse landscapes, making it the perfect backdrop for couples in love. On a beautiful day in March, I joined Ralenia and Bryan as they began their journey together, surrounded by nature’s unparalleled beauty. With the serene Fish Creek flowing nearby, we explored the lush scenery leading up to the awe-inspiring North Douglas Lookout, where panoramic views of the ocean and the Mendenhall glacier awaited us.

The Joy of Elopement
For Ralenia and Bryan, saying "I do" amidst nature’s playground was not only a dream come true but also a reflection of their deep connection. Their love radiated in every moment we captured, and it was clear that they valued authenticity over tradition. One of the highlights of their special day was having their beloved dog join the ceremony— a heartwarming addition that perfectly encapsulated their fun-loving spirit.

The Art of Videography
As a videographer, my objective is to capture not just moments, but emotions. Every glance, laughter, and tear during Ralenia and Bryan’s vows painted a vivid picture of their love story. Elevating the Experience with Drone Videography
One of my favorite aspects of this shoot was the opportunity to incorporate drone videography. The aerial views offered a unique perspective, showcasing the stunning vistas of North Douglas in all of it's  glory. The sweeping shots of Ralenia and Bryan against the backdrop of the glacier and ocean brought a cinematic quality to their story, adding depth and drama that couldn’t be achieved from the ground alone. So long as it isn't raining, drone footage is included in all of my video packages.
