Pregnancy, Birth & Newborn Sessions
capture life's most precious moments...
Embracing the journey & capturing love before the first hello.
As a photographer, momma to two toddlers and certified Birth Doula, you can count on me to take extra care in capturing the beauty of your journey into parenthood with a fun and laidback photoshoot adventure!
You will step into picturesque Alaskan landscapes or cozy indoor home settings, where you can express your unique style and glowing anticipation.
Every click of the camera will freeze this magical chapter in time, highlight your radiance and the love that surrounds you. It's not just a photoshoot; it's a celebration of the life you are bringing to this world.
I also invite you to ask me all the birth doula questions while we shoot!
About My Birth Work
My journey to parent support began in college 12 years ago when a good friend asked me to be a birth support. I started reading and learning and my experience at her birth inspired me to learn how to how we can do better as a society to support people in pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Then, in 2014, I served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala in Maternal and Child Health for over two years where I trained under the most incredible Mayan midwives who practiced centuries old birth traditions while I exchanged my training/knowledge with them on modern practices, like taking blood pressure and navigating birth emergencies.
When I returned to the USA, I spent hundreds of hours training, completing my DOULA courses with Bastyr University in Seattle, and training under THE PENNY SIMKIN in her birth series classes. (May she rest in peace and be forever thanked and blessed for the wisdom she has humbly parted onto thousands of birth workers).
After a year of work and dedication, I earned my DONA Birth Doula Certification and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist Certifications and helped pioneer the countries first hospital volunteer doula program at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington where I volunteered my time with labor support and onboarded new doulas.
In 2022, I gave birth unmedicated to my first baby and had an unplanned cesarean with my second baby in 2023. All this to say, your girl has got A LOT of experience!
I opened my photography business in 2024 after leaving my career to be a stay at home mom, and I am overjoyed at how my two passions have collided and offered me the opportunity to continue to support local parents in our Juneau community.
